Sand and Gravel has been produced in the local area since the 1930s. Mineral reserve at the existing quarry is rapidly diminishing and to maintain operational capacity, there is a need for new mineral resource to provide continuity of supply to the local construction market.
To continue to supply mineral to Scrooby Top Quarry for sale, Rotherham Sand and Gravel has identified new areas of land for extraction located close to the existing workings. This lies to the north and south of current operational area opposite Scrooby Top Quarry. This mineral is allocated for quarry development in the adopted Nottinghamshire Minerals Local Plan.

In 1991 Batchmix was established to supply ready mixed concrete and floor screed with the same high standards of quality and customer service that had long been a hallmark of Rotherham Sand and Gravel.
In 2000 it gained accreditation to the internationally recognised ISO 14001 environmental management standard, one of the first independent aggregates producer to do so.
In 2003 significant investment was made to Scrooby Top Quarry, when the company redesigned the layout of its Scrooby Top Quarry including a new washing plant, concrete plant, bagging plant and office facilities, and completed an extensive program of tree planting to significantly reduce the visual impact of the quarry on the surrounding rural environment. This investment ensures that Rotherham Sand & Gravel would continue to meet the quality and service expectations of its customers well into the future.
What we manufacture
Rotherham Sand and Gravel manufacturers a range of sands which may be described as grey, red and washed building sands, washed grit sand, ballast and gravels. The company’s Batchmix business are local suppliers of ready mixed concrete and floor screeds.
